    The Challenge

    The lack of proper data management in e-commerce operations can lead to significant inefficiencies. The client faced challenges in maintaining accurate records of customer orders, inventory, and transaction histories. Retrieving this critical information promptly was proving to be a significant obstacle. Without an e-commerce management system, the client experienced delays in order fulfillment, inventory mismatches, and difficulties in delivering personalized shopping experiences. This hindered business growth and customer satisfaction, as outdated or inaccessible data could lead to stock-outs, over-selling, or missed opportunities for up-selling and cross-selling.

    Our Analysis

    We audited the retailer's Magento 1.9 install (end-of-life since June 2020) and rebuilt the merchant requirements from cart-abandonment telemetry up:


    • Stack risk: Unpatched Magento 1 install was failing PCI quarterly scans; replatform timeline was non-negotiable.
    • Inventory drift: Warehouse cycle counts trailed Magento stock levels by 4-6%, driving routine oversell and refund fees.
    • Catalog depth: 37,000 SKUs with variant-heavy apparel and FDA-regulated supplements that required UNSPSC and lot-code tracking.
    • Personalization missing: No collaborative-filtering or RFM-segmented offers; abandoned-cart emails were a flat 10% blanket discount.
    • Operator UX: Merchandisers were exporting CSVs to Excel because the legacy admin grid maxed out at 500 rows.

    Our Solution

    We replatformed onto Odoo with a custom storefront on React, an Apache Kafka-backed inventory stream tying the WMS to product availability in under 30 seconds, an RFM segmentation pipeline that drives Klaviyo flows, and PCI-DSS SAQ A-EP scoped Stripe/PayPal integrations so card data never touches the merchant servers.

    Our e-commerce platform delivered significant value, achieving $90K in annual savings on infrastructure and operations by transitioning to a cost-efficient, scalable cloud environment. By migrating 500GB of data to the cloud, the platform now supports real-time analytics, enabling smarter, data-driven decisions.
